The ecom-JN exhaust gas analysis computer provides many years of operational reliability even under rigorous everyday requirements. The first devices were manufactured in 1994 and are still in use today. An automatic condensate monitor and drainage reliably ensures that no moisture can get into the device. An integrated air-conditioning system for the sensors ensures that the ecom-JN is ready for use
quickly – even under extreme weather conditions.

In addition the formation of condensation in the device is prevented. All sensors are temperature-compensated and this guarantees a high measuring accuracy over a wide temperature range. The device is modular in structure and can be equipped with up to five sensors (standard: O2 and CO; option: NO, NO2 and SO2). A separate fresh air connection prevents miscalibration; once the device has been switched off it flushes the measuring cells to clear them. The heated soot measuring probe prevents the formation of condensate during the measurement of soot.
With the RS232 measured values can be transferred on-line to the PC. For this purpose the free takeover software ecom-DAS can simply be downloaded form the rbr Internet site.

Valve-controlled gas control
Sophisticated valve technology ensures that in the ecom-JN operational errors and premature wear in the sensors are reliably prevented. Since the device is calibrated through a separate fresh air connection, the exhaust gas sample can already be positioned in the exhaust gas pipe during the calibration phase; miscalibration before the measurement is not possible. Once the device has shut down the sensors are automatically flushed with fresh air to clear them.

Reliable operation thanks to air-conditioned sensors
To make sure the ecom-JN is soon ready to measure even at low temperatures, it is brought up to operating temperature by a heating system. An integrated fan prevents the inside temperatures from going too high. The sensors therefore always work within the optimum temperature range.

Sturdy instrument case
The ecom-JN is permanently installed in an aluminium-frame case. The case protects the device from damage - even with heavy-duty everyday use. In addition all components needed for the measurement here, such as the exhaust gas sample and combustion air sensor, can be comfortably accommodated here.

Heated soot measurement
The heated soot measuring device guarantees constantly dry soot patterns on the filter pads. These are simply clamped in the fixture and the soot measuring function is started at the analysis computer. The soot patterns are evaluated manually after the specified volume of exhaust gas has been automatically sucked in.
